# How we work

The editorial rules this site is built on, stated plainly enough that you can hold us to them.

We aim to make Luxor understandable without hiding the limits of what we know. Unverified practical details stay blank, historical notes distinguish evidence from interpretation, and bylines require a real person’s involvement. The content still awaits named historical and native Arabic review; this guide does not replace current official visitor information.

## What we will not invent.

Prices, hours, ticket conditions and other changing details stay unverified until checked through the editorial process. A blank field is a prompt to confirm the information with the official venue or operator; it does not mean the service is unavailable.

## We do not invent people.

Bylines and credentials require a real person’s involvement. Illustrative articles are labelled, and incomplete vessel records are not presented as inspected boats or bookable offers.

## How we distinguish evidence.

Evidence labels distinguish established facts, scholarly interpretations, unresolved questions and tradition. Where prose combines these, it should say clearly which part is known and which is inferred. The labels are a guide to reading, not proof of completed expert review.

**Fact**: Supported by reliable historical or archaeological evidence.

**Interpretation**: A credible scholarly interpretation, not a settled fact.

**Uncertain**: The evidence is insufficient, or specialists disagree.

**Tradition**: A story commonly attached to the site, not established history.

Where a claim would not survive being labelled, it is not published. Conventional chronology is used throughout and dates carry “c.” where they are conventional.

## Where the material comes from.

Historical material follows a priority order: the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and the Supreme Council of Antiquities first, then UNESCO, then the excavation missions working on the ground, then peer-reviewed work, universities, major museum research and recognised Egyptology publishing. Practical material starts with the attraction or operator itself, then government, then transport operators, then direct verification by us. Booking platforms may supply clearly attributed price indicators, with their limits disclosed. They do not support historical claims or property endorsements. Travel blogs, social video and AI summaries are not historical authorities.

## Why a sentence here sometimes stays general.

Specific details need specific support. We name a wall, room or object only when the evidence supports that location. When it does not, we keep the description broader and leave the uncertainty visible.

## Arabic is written, not translated.

We use established Arabic place names and write for Arabic readers, keeping the meaning consistent with the English. All records are still awaiting a native Arabic editor’s review, as noted on each page.

## What a machine is allowed to do here.

AI tools can assist with research, organisation and drafts in both languages. They do not replace expert review, native Arabic review or on-site checks. We do not use them to invent sources, people, visits, prices or verification dates.

## Accessibility is recorded, not summarised.

We describe access needs separately rather than assigning one accessible/inaccessible label. Some descriptions concern the historic layout; others, such as toilets, drop-off and step-free routes, need current verification. No on-site access audit has been completed, and photographs alone cannot settle these questions.

## Who pays for this.

Luxor101 and EgyptMore belong to the Remal network. Our editorial independence means choosing and explaining places on their merits; it does not mean separate ownership from the network. There is nothing to buy on this site today, no affiliate link and no sponsored placement. If commercial listings arrive, they will be labelled as commercial, they will sit after the answer rather than in front of it, and nothing will ever be ordered by what it pays.

**Opening hours, ticket prices and tomb access change.** Published prices and hours carry an online source-check date where available. Field checks, current access and human editorial review remain separate; confirm arrangements before travelling.
