Do not assume a pass includes every tomb or that site admission covers all interiors. At the Valley of the Kings, general admission and separately ticketed tombs are different purchases. Official online booking is available for a range of sites; confirm current coverage, prices and payment methods before buying. ## Before you go Start with your list of sites and tombs. Individual admissions, any available multi-site pass and separately ticketed interiors may cover different things. Check the current Luxor Pass terms with the official ticket office rather than assuming either that it covers everything or that no pass exists. The Ministry’s booking service, egymonuments.com, offers online tickets for a range of monuments and museums. Check the site, date, visitor category and conditions before paying. Keep your confirmation available for inspection. An online purchase does not override a closure or give access to an excluded tomb. At the Valley of the Kings, the general ticket covers a specified selection of open tombs, while some tombs have separate tickets. Confirm the allowance and exclusions for your visit. A ticket and permission to enter a particular tomb are related questions, but they are not the same question. Check payment methods in advance and carry a bank card; do not rely on cash alone for admission. Keep some cash for everyday expenses, without assuming it will be accepted at a ticket office. If you book a guide, driver or tour, ask for an itemised list of what is included. Name any tomb you particularly want to visit and check whether its admission is covered.
